The world of digital and social media marketing continues to evolve at lightning speed. So much so, that it’s challenging for even the most experienced marketers to keep up with all the changes. That being said, one of the most popular social media platforms remains YouTube, with an estimated 1 billion users logging in monthly. If you’re not already using this network as part of your marketing strategy, now is the time to start. Here are 3 reasons why you should be using YouTube for business:

It’s Still, By Far, the Biggest Video Network

If you want to reach the largest possible audience on social media, you need to be on YouTube. The platform’s monthly logged-in user base is 6 times the size of the next largest video network, DailyMotion. YouTube’s monthly unique users are also more than 6 times larger than the next largest social network for videos, Vimeo. It’s important to note that these numbers don’t account for viewers who happen to be logged in on YouTube but aren’t there to consume videos. However, the data does show that business owners can get their videos in front of the most people by putting them on the world’s most popular video network. And while TikTok is now nipping at YouTube’s heels, it’s still a place for short-form entertainment, not for learning or deep-dives into the things that interest people most.

YouTube is an Excellent Brand Awareness Tool

If you’re just getting started with your YouTube channel, you’ll want to focus on creating content that will help you build awareness around your brand. While you don’t want to create too much of a sales-focused video, you’ll want to make sure that viewers understand what your business does, what it offers and how to get in touch with you. After all, your goal with these videos is to get people to know, like and trust you. The more familiar your potential customers are with your brand, the more likely they are to purchase from you. The good news is that YouTube is an excellent tool for creating brand awareness videos. With the right tools, you can create videos that will be discoverable by people searching for your brand, as well as those browsing YouTube.

YouTube Has Some Pretty Awesome Tools for Businesses

As a business, you’ll have access to tools that make it easy to create great-looking videos, optimize them and track the results. But YouTube offers more than just tools, it also has a number of tools specifically designed for business owners. For example, you can use the YouTube analytics tool to get data on the performance of your videos, allowing you to make adjustments as needed. You can also use the YouTube channel management tool to see how many people are watching your videos, where they’re coming from and how long they’re watching. Finally, you can use the Google Preferred program to get your videos into the top 5% of most-watched videos across all categories.
